Co-Athens is a prototype urban innovation program developed for the City of Athens as the frontrunner of its social integration initiative Curing the Limbo. The program, which is funded and supported by Urban Innovative Actions of the European Union, nurtures partnerships among refugees with asylum living in Athens and local community initiatives supporting the development of hybrid local collaborative projects that respond to contemporary urban challenges and city needs.
Following an open call for participation, a forum of experiential workshops, body exercises, co-creations sessions, networking events, capacity building meetings and funding opportunities, 9 participative platforms were selected to test their ideas in the neighborhoods of Athens.
